Bring your lawn chairs and join us for a public vigil honoring the life and legacy of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in downtown Erie on October 4.
Kirk, 31, was the founder of Turning Point USA, an organization that “guides citizens through development of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation, so they can meaningfully engage in their communities to restore traditional American values like patriotism, respect for life, liberty, family, and fiscal responsibility.” He was shot and killed during an outdoor event on a Utah college campus on September 10.
Former Erie County Councilman Brian Shank helped organize the Erie vigil. He hopes it will serve as a moment of unity in the community. Shank will be the master of ceremony at the event, which will include speakers, musicians, and the presentation of a large flag.
Speakers include:
Erie County Executive Brenton Davis
Pastor Dave Sherwood
Chaplain Jim Crotty
Chaplain Joe Gullo
Pastor Vince Rizzone
Music guests include:
The Band 814 (debuting their new single “We Got It From Here: Our Tribute to Charlie Kirk” which releases on the day of the event, October 4)
Jake Banta and Rick Magee
Tom Kalinowski
Special thanks: Erie Extreme, Presque Isle Gun Shop, Lincoln Foundry, Ed Kumm (Wallace Audio), and all volunteers!
